Although my given name is HB Auld, Jr., I have gone by my nickname, "Sonny," all of my life.
I am a Christian grandfather, married to a wonderful woman named Jannie. After graduating from high school together, but going our separate ways, we re-met 39 years later in 2001 and married February 2, 2002 (that's 02/02/02) and yes, we were married at 2:02 p.m.
I have two wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, a step-daughter and a step-son and his wife. These four families have blessed me with 16 grandchildren.
In our spare time, Jannie and I like to visit our grandchildren, travel and sightsee, and enjoy books and shows together.
Recently, we relocated to be nearer our family: Jannie's son, daughter-in-law, and our granddaughter.
I served in the US Navy for 22 years, retiring as a Senior Chief Journalist August 31, 1987.
During my naval career I was stationed in Adak, Alaska; Edzell, Scotland; Okinawa, Japan; Pensacola, Florida; Syracuse, New York; Indianapolis, Indiana; Naples, Italy; and Washington, D.C.
Lest someone think I was "shorebound" my entire time in the Navy, I also served Temporary Assigned Duty in several ships, including USS Ticonderoga (a US Navy Aegis cruiser), HMS Hermes (a Royal Navy aircraft carrier), and others.
